The Green Bay Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) was founded in 1924 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral at the invitation of Bishop Paul Rhode, sixth bishop of Green Bay.
Its purpose is to support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service, consistent with the teachings and tradition of the Catholic Church.
The women do service projects in the areas of church, family, international, community, legislation, and organization.
There are Councils Catholic Women at the parish, vicariate, diocesan, and national levels. The National Council of Catholic Women provides information on projects and activities that can be adapted for their parish and locality. Parish affiliates include:
