Event Details:

Parish Bonfire (Sunday, June 15th at 7:30PM; Waldo Parking Lot): As we begin our 20th Anniversary celebrations, join us following the 6:30PM Mass for a bonfire social. There will be s’mores, hot dogs, beverages, games, and we may even be joined by some priests who were formerly assigned at St. Francis! (Hosted by St. Francis of Assisi Youth Ministry.)

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Lessons (Monday, June 16th at Multiple Times; St. Joseph House): Join in learning more about the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program at our parish and Roncalli Catholic Schools through experienceing different lessons taught in our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atriums. Through Montessori methods, youth learn who Jesus is, Sacred Scripture, Biblical history, the origin of the mass, how to pray and so much more. These lessons are open to all! Saints and Spirits (Tuesday, June 17th at 6PM; St. Joseph House): Join in hearing more about the life of St. Francis over themed cocktails and appetizers! (Hosted by Young Adult Ministry).

Parish Service Day (Wednesday, June 18th at Multiple Times; Multiple Locations): We’d love your help with participating in various parish service projects! Have a few hours to spare in the morning, afternoon, or evening? Between cleaning, washing windows, yard work, and more, we have projects for you! Community Service Day (Thursday, June 19th at Multiple Times; Multiple Locations):
Join us in serving our Manitowoc Community. Multiple service opportunities will be available in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Please consider volunteering and sharing the love of Jesus outside our parish walls! Find the sign up on our parish website or call the parish office to sign up for a project. Volunteers for either or both of our service days are welcome to join us for a “Spuds and Splits” dinner at the Waldo Social Hall between 4:00-6:00PM, featuring a baked potato bar and banana splits.

Holy Hour for the Newly Ordained (Thursday, June 19th at 11AM at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial)
We invite you to spend time in prayer for the newly ordained during this special Eucharistic holy hour at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital. Those participating will be led in guided prayers.

Praise and Worship (Friday, June 20th at 6PM; Waldo Social Hall)
Join us for an evening of prayer through Praise and Worship Music!

Flag Retirement Ceremony (Saturday, June 21st at 9AM; Waldo Parking Lot)
Do you have flags that need to be retired? Join us for this special ceremony. (Hosted by the Boy Scouts, Amvets, and Knights of Columbus.)

Priest Farewell Event (Saturday, June 21st at 5:30PM; Marshall Campus)
Join us in saying farewell to Fr. Jason and Fr. Matt before they begin their new parish assignments. There’ll be pizza and beverages as well. (Hosted by CEW (Christian Experience Weekend) and the Knights of Columbus.)

Corpus Christi Procession and Rosary (Sunday, June 22nd at 10AM; Marshall Campus to Waldo Campus)
We will be celebrating Corpus Christi (the Solemnity of the Most Precious Body and Blood of Jesus). Following 9AM Mass, there will be a brief time of Eucharistic Adoration in the Marshall Church, with the procession beginning at about 10:30AM. Those interested in processing will leave the Marshall Campus, walking to the Waldo Campus, arriving by around 11:30AM. (Those who are unable to process but would still like to participate in the event are invited to gather at the Fatima Shrine outside the Waldo Campus at 11AM to pray the rosary.) There will be a food truck present following the procession (and remaining through and following the 12PM Mass in Spanish.) A bus will be available to take pilgrims back to the Marshall Campus at 12PM and 2PM. (Hosted by Hispanic Ministry.)

Calvary Cemetery Experience (Monday, June 23rd from 4:30-7:30PM; Calvary Cemetery)
Join us for an evening at Calvary Cemetery. There will be an opportunity to paint rocks to be placed in Gianna’s garden, participate in a cemetery scavenger hunt, and enjoy a picnic dinner at the gravesites of your loved ones.

Anointing Mass (Tuesday, June 24th at 5PM; Waldo Church)
We will have the addition of the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick as a part of our 5PM Mass this day. All in need of healing are especially welcome to attend. There will also be prayer shawls available and a brief social to follow. (Hosted by Prayer Shawl Ministry and our Liturgy staff.)

St. Francis Begging Day (Wednesday, June 25th throughout the day)
Help us collect new donation items to benefit local non-profits. Simply fill a bag with any of the items listed on our parish website and notify the office that you have items to collect, either by completing the form on our website or by calling the parish office. We will have volunteers picking up items. Donations can also be dropped off at the parish office any time between 9AM - 6:30PM. Donations will then be sorted and dropped off at local non-profts by the end of the week. You can find our list of items to donate on our website as well.

Steubenville Send-off (Thursday, June 26th at 8:15AM; Waldo Campus)
We will have 40+ teens and chaperones departing for the Steubenville Joliet Catholic Youth Conference. You can pray with the group before their departure with Mass at 8:15AM at the Waldo Church.

Pilgrimage Bus Trip (Thursday, June 26th at 8:30AM; Departing from the Waldo Campus)
All are welcome to join us for a pilgrimage bus trip, going to the Shrine of Our Lady of Champion and the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Lunch will be provided. A Lamers coach bus will be provided, but those willing to instead drive themselves may drive themselves.

St. Clare Rummage Sale and Bake Sale and Knights of Columbus Brat Fry (Friday, June 27th from 9AM-3PM and Saturday, June 28th from 9AM-1PM; Waldo Campus)
The St. Clare Society will have their annual Rummage Sale and Bake Sale! Support the St. Clare Society in all the ways they support our parish and local community! Treasures await! The Knights of Columbus will simultaneously be having a brat fry! Don’t leave hungry.

Family-Hosted Post-Mass Socials (Saturday, June 28th and Sunday, June 29th, following each Mass)
Gather with those you see every Mass, with a simple social following each Mass. A couple or a family/families who regularly attend the given Mass will be serving beverages and light appetizers.

Eucharistic Adoration (Monday, June 30th at 8PM (until 12AM), Waldo Church)
Ahead of the official day of beginning of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, you are welcome to join in Eucharistic Adoration, praying for our parish. Adoration will be moved from the Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel into the church during this time.

“Happy 20 Years” Social! (Tuesday, July 1st at 1PM; Waldo Social Hall)
Join in officially celebrating the 20th Anniversary of our Parish with a social. (Hosted by the St. Clare Society.)

Server Appreciation Cook-out (Tuesday, July 1st at 6PM, Waldo Parking Lot)
Servers are invited to a special appreciation cookout, along with games, following 5PM Mass at the Waldo church. (Hosted by the Vocations Ministry Team.)

Play at the Park (Neshota Beach Park)
Families with toddler or school-aged children are invited to join in our weekly Play at the Park gathering. This is a great opportunity for children to play together and see their friends over summer. As a part of our 20th Anniversary Celebrations, youth attending this week will receive some fun goodies and treats. (Hosted by Moms Ministry.)

Game Night (Wednesday, July 2nd at 6PM, Waldo Social Hall)
All are welcome to join in a family-friendly game night! Bring your own snacks to share. You are welcome to bring your own games, but we will also have many games and decks of cards as well!

Children’s Movie Matinee (Thursday, July 3rd at 1PM, at the Emmaus House)
Join us for a family-friendly movie matinee. Children are welcome to come in their pajamas and bring a pillow and blanket. Snacks will be provided. Movie TBA!

4th of July Celebration: Tailgate and Fireworks Viewing (Friday, July 4th at 8PM, Parking Lot of Hawkins Ash CPAs, 1 Waldo Blvd Suite 5, Manitowoc)
We'll be wrapping up our 20th Anniversary celebrations with a 4th of July tailgate and fireworks viewing. We will also be drawing our raffle prize winners this evening! We will have popcorn and beverages and glow in the dark accessories for the kids!

Additional Details: 

As a part of our 20th Anniversary Celebration, you will receive a door prize ticket at each event you attend.  Door prizes will be drawn on July 4th (you do not need to be present to win).  

At several of our events we will also have a special celebratory ice cream, Heavenly Delight, and a special celebratory beer, Holy Indulgence.  Thank you to Cedar Crest and Petskull for working with us on providing these!
